Yesterday's meeting

Hi folks:

Yesterday was a wonderful meeting here at the house. We had people
from a few different churches represented here. Darryl shared about
righteous living as a key to transforming a region. A good word and
in season for this area. It was great to have him and Martha here.
They have been long time friends.

Of course, this meeting immediately gave us two situations that spun
out of control, leaving us in prayer mode for the affected families.
We have run into more and more who need the friendship of one
another. We have seen people hurt and damaged by others and looking
for friends.

Yesterday, as Darryl and Martha prayed for us about our coming
meeting called a "Quest For Spirituality" he shared that I was to
read about David gathering the men who no one else accepted. He said
that these people were needing the friendship of one who would gather
that and see them as valuable. I am chewing on this, but it has to do
with the coming awakening and the battles to be engaged.

Maybe you are one of those people like I was and am, sometimes. A
"Messiah's Misfit" so to speak.

Anyways-we already gather at 8 AM in the morning M-T-T-F. We also
meet at 7PM on Tuesday nights.

We are thinking about gathering at another time on the weekend for a
time of friendship, prayer and what God wants to do as we did
yesterday. Feel free to let us know your thoughts. We have a number
of people who want to visit us in Springfield to share their hearts.

A few weeks ago I had said if God wasn't being glorified in
Springfield, I really wanted to leave. Since then He has burdened
others' hearts with getting together. We shall see.

Blessings,
lee

Reaching Out

I often spend time meditating on what life is and how I can change it.

Yesterday, I spent 14 hours of physical work. Lifting, shoving, moving enough to fill a 26 ' truck, a 14' truck and a 1' trailer. I was tired (This is really pretty normal...). And someone asked me if it is worth it?

Yesterday, I spent the majority of the day with two unsaved individuals. One thinks he knows the Creator and the other thinks he doesn't. I was able to spend two hours in conversation with the doubter as he asked question after question about God. Questions like why God let's the killer go free and the victim die, questions about abortion and marriage. I guess if I die in the process( I come home in pain every day lately.) of sharing the gospel it is worth it. The other night once again I was convicted about the Christian who strives for a God who gives all and often doesn't make the effort to share Him.

For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.

Have you ever thought about this scripture? So many suggest that only those that have will have abundance and those that don't have won't. So, how did those who have get? Somewhere they must have received. How did they receive? And what can you take away from one that does not have?

To have because one that doesn't have all will be taken away, there must be a way. And so the gift of freedom and abundance can only be the result of reaching one's hand forth. And another reaching out.

As I spent time with my friend(Who by the way is coarse and vulgar and all the things we in the church walk away from-unless we are doing it...) I realized once again another heart that is looking. Seeking the life of God. This man has invited me and my wife over for dinner. With his girlfriend(He is married.).

How do we reach the lost unless we stretch forth what we have? I am not very comfortable in the church as a rule. Too many rules. I could spend my time behind closed doors and miss what people are saying, what they are doing. I don't think I can do that.

Somehow we must reach these people. Somehow we must get out of comfort zone and give what they don't have to them, so that they might have the opportunity for abundance as well.

Blessings,
lee

Bird Bath Takes A Fly

How windy has it been? Very! The wind as of today has not subsided. Many have no power as the temperatures are in single digits. How windy? Check out the link  below.

So imagine Tina's surprise when she came home from work to find a cement bird bath that has been imbedded in the ground for years and years rolling down the driveway.  Heavy enough that she could not lift it but only roll it back, And then I heard a song with Billy Graham's voice in the back saying, "we can not see the wind, just the effects of the wind." He was giving an analogy of our God as "unseen" but with effects.

And why the bird bath? I don't know yet. The same wind that blew the bird bath did not remove the tarp, but took a chair off the porch and into the driveway. The end of comfort as we know it.

As I watch the news I see that we are on the edge of some dramatic shift. This cartoon thing is crazy. Read "the plot thickens below." Things we have not seen are happening. God is calling people to pray as we never have before. Last week I was convicted of the fact that many including myself have worked overtime getting our vertical relationship(The one with God.) right but we have neglected a lot of the "love one another" part and our fellowship has been lacking with one another.

The wind of transition is upon us. Old trees(Traditions and religion) are falling. Things are blowing around(Mostly people.) and we have a job to do.

Ministry is the result of the overflowing of the love of the Father in our hearts. When we are connected to that  and influenced by His love our reaching out is effortless. How many have felt the effect of doing something because we have to? Ministry from overflow is not us but Him working through us. It is not a vocation(A job.) or a calling(Unless we recognized all are called.) but a heart response to enjoying the father's love lavished upon us. And with that in mind we go anywhere, do anything without fear or trepidation.

And that means that  "my" ministry is not in the workplace but it is holistic in it is everywhere I am that I allow God's love to flow. Not being selective about how or where I release His love means that I operate under open heavens in all cases. Not choosing who is "worthy" or who is "deserving." Just receive and release.

And isn't that what the wind of God is for? To allow us to soar upon the wings of it's lift? Requiring us to leave the weightiness of the world behind. An overweight plane can not soar, and if it does arise, it's ability to respond to the wind is jeopardized. So much is held onto without the relationship of the Father being manifested.

A conversation this morning indicated that this person did not believe in the connectivity of God, other than the scripture that says we are connected, binding us one to another. And that idea is permeating the body in an unhealthy way.

As I read of a family trapped without electricity or the furnishings of America's riches as the result of an atmospheric shift, they ultimately came to believe two things. The need of God and trust in Him and the need for one another, as the world tumbled out of control.

I believe we are seeing the world tumble out of control(In our eyes-not that God doesn't have a handle on it.) So our lives as we have lived it are being challenged by the wind. Were you one that lost electricity in 5 degree weather? I hope not. Last year I was in a region that had been broken down by snow and many on the Cape had no power. So they all drove along the Cape seeking the restaurants that were open. But what if there had not been one?

And how far does one have to travel to find a Christian trusting the Lord in every situation? Are we not to be salt and light to a dying world? The last week I have seen trouble in marriages of 30 years and more. Ministers who are dry and broken. All I can do is pray.

God says He will  take care of the sparrow, with or without the bird bath. That He will clothe the fields in color and beauty. Do I need to lose my "bird bath" before I will chase Him down? Or will I allow the wind to lift me up or just crackle across the ground like a fallen leaf, who can not or will not fly? Will I not pursue Him while he is near?

So may words are in the air I can not keep up, but the world's "chatter" is increasing. People are being killed by militant religious fanatics. Churches are being burned here and abroad. It is time that we release the Kingdom where we live. Where we work. Where we are.

Blessings,
Lee

But, this mornings' article continues

In Britain, a poll of Muslims last night found evidence of growing alienation, with four in 10 calling for religious sharia law to be imposed in parts of the UK with a mainly Muslim population. The law specifies stonings and amputations as punishments, and involves religious police bringing suspects before courts.

This may be the first formal example of how the Muslim world is beginning to exempt themselves from all governments and will soon be calling for Muslims everywhere to be functioning as an autonomous body regardless of what country or government they live under.  You or I may be dragged into a Muslim "court" and have your body parts chopped off because they find you guilty of something that they find offensive. (like speaking to one of their wives on the street, which is against their law)  And at some point the local police will be unwilling to challenge these terrorists for fear of their own life and body parts.  ...Coming soon, to a neighborhood near you.

Some Ramblings and Praise

Dear Brothers & Sisters:
Many thanks for all the support and prayer that we received for this past weekend in Maine. It was an incredible time of prayer, worship and fellowship.

Some highlights.
Strategy meeting
We met yesterday morning to strategize. We had a time of prayer, communion and discussion. Ralph shared a dream his son had . The dream was that some people were helping a full size cat have a baby that was a crow that was being released out a window. This crow was the same crow that killed Richard the Lionhearted.  Linda and Tina went and researched the death of this King. They brought us information that indicated his death was due to "applauding" a bowman that was taking aim at him, receiving an arrow in his shoulder that he did not remove and gangrene killed him. We all felt that pride and arrogance were keys to work against in our own lives. The meeting was very productive time and we all felt that communication could break down between us and we had to work on it.

After lunch we gather in the sanctuary at Mountaintop. As Linda and Amy led worship, prayers and words came forth. Rich, Ralph and I were blown away as others who were not in our morning meeting, added confirmation after confirmation to what we had seen and discussed.

The blow away was as a man named Jim shared two words the Lord had him write out the night before. One off those words was the dream that Ralph's 12 year old had! We could not believe it. It was one of those chairos moments that we talk about. Worship was so precious.

Thank you Lord.

Youth
The night before where we stayed there were young people praying for hours. They had begun at 8 and when we went to bed at 11:30 I could still hear them pounding the heavens. They would come out and tell us what they saw in heaven as many of them were visiting heaven. One young man had been told by the Lord that he could not come to heaven until he went down the road to a church and waited. Folks, it was 5 degrees out! He ran down the road and lay on a bench in front of the UU Church in town. The Lord released him and within a few feet he met a girl and invited her back to "church." As she entered these youth started praying for her and reading her mail.  Was she wowed!

Please pray for the 19 year old pastor as he shepherds this group of some 40-50 young people.

I believe this is what God is releasing on the earth in this hour.

Maine was totally awesome. We had a wonderful time and are looking forward to our return. The county we hold our meeting in March is Washington County. First president's name. I suggest we watch for what comes out of this region.

As one of our friends said over the weekend, "I believe this will be the very best of years and the very worst of years. " As you read the letter below, I hope you will be turned to prayer.

On Saturday morning I read the book of Ecclesiastes. My heart went out to a man who could have had it all. And by earth standards he did. For years we have said there will be no gray areas. And each time the separation between dark and light gets wider, we think it and say it again.

New England was and is destined for greatness. What is your place and position? My wife tells me I am too political, some of my friends say I am a rabble rouser. When I looked that up, I found it to be one that stirs up the masses, as to hate or violence. Initially, I was shocked by the definition, but then I realized I do hate hell and a form of violence is required to see the world change for God. So, I am ok with it.

What do we do here? Certainly I do not pretend to have all the answers, but as I looked around our small gathering of worship and the presence of God came in in a mighty way, I realized it doesn't take many. If only each person on this list, lifted their voice to heaven and shut the gates of hell, we would see a move of revival proportions.

Now, I would say prayer and worship can not only be the answer, but the beginning of the answer. A loud voice brought down the walls of Jericho but a people were needed to plunder it. Where are the people. If we hole up in church buildings and Christian communes removing us from the possibility of being salt and light to a dark and dying world, we have not understood the words of Jesus. Can this day we re-evaluate our stance on this concept and visit where we have been wrong  and change it?

People tell me that homosexuals and witches frighten them or scare them. I have thoughts like that too, but if I do not reach out, who will? Let's get rid of the pigeonholing mentality of who is fivefold and who is not.  It is about us doing the stuff. My young friend, the 19 year old pastor, was the subject of a letter that told people to avoid him. Why? Because he shows young people the way to heaven? And they go there? Come on! While Moses was running towards the mountain the others ran away from it.

When was the last time that I spent 18 hours in prayer(Without looking at watches...) and felt good about it? That's what a group of these young people did. This weekend they had already passed the 3.5 hour mark when we went to bed.

As I read the letter below, I know we are in a time of shift. My heart is that God can change a nation overnight. If one of us can put a thousand to flight and 2 of us ten thousand, what can the penned words of a believer do to a statesman? (15 years ago I ran a campaign for a friend and at the time the average senate letter response to an issue did not exceed 45. I recognize with email it is much higher, so ask yourself who is sending these messages.)

Today, can we take a look and see what is real? Wherever we are it is because we choose it. Wherever we want to be it will be because we choose it.

News
Many of you have perhaps hear of what is happening in NH in the legislature. I enclose a letter from a friend in NH. I hope you will pray. If you live in NH, I think it is evident what you must do.
Dear NHA Friends,

I just got off the phone with Karen Testerman of Cornerstone Policy Research and I realize that the battle for the NH fight for traditional marriage is in trouble.

We lost badly at the hearing that took place this week and if we lose this effort judicial activism has the potential to introduce the horrors that we have seen elsewhere like:
·        In MA, David Parker was told by the court he couldn't prohibit his 6 year old from opting out of the homosexual curriculum in his school.
·        In Canada the lesbians sued the church because they were told they couldn't rent the church hall for their gay wedding.
·        The group advocating gay marriage in NH has a MA "married" homosexual couple that are ready to claim the "Maryland strategy" to force NH courts to prohibit gender discrimination in marriage.

So far we have been too slow to respond to this critical need.  At this point we are asking all of you to take action to get back in the game before it is too late.  Here is where we are at:

In short, the House Judiciary committee has 22 members and 9 are with traditional marriage and Karen says we need 12.  Next, we need 2/3 of the House to approve this which will take a state-wide press from the church and this vote could take place toward the end of February.  Again, we are looking for you to take action by bringing this to your churches and then calling your legislators ASAP.

Shaking What Can Be

Because of many situations over the last year, I have been forced to
revisit my past. This weekend is one of them. As we prepare for the
upcoming meeting in March, we have made the decision to take this
time to pray, seek God's strategy and pray some more.

I would ask you to keep us in prayer this weekend as we travel to
Maine. Keep the other men and their families in your prayers as well.
This week has been one of those "drains" on the finances that I only
encounter when something big is going to happen. What started out to
be a window not going back up turned into what I could spend on a
good used car in Vermont.

As I look around and see what is going on in the world, in the church
and in families, I remember all the prophetic words of shaking, and I
have to ask myself what part did we not understand. The shaking is to
get people out of zones of comfort and tradition that they will be in
zones of comforting others and releasing the Kingdom. We knew it was
going to shake, we heard it was going to shake, so why the surprise
when it shakes?

As we prepare to minister to a group of people who are on a path (In
many cases because of the lack of love they witnessed other
places-need I say more?) I am wondering why the church is allowing
the return of witchcraft in the church. I would suggest it is because
we see ourselves as more able to do things than what God has laid
out. We like to counsel and psychoanalyze. We like to hear ourselves
talk about things that have little meaning. What about Jesus? (For
those who see and hear Jesus, I am encouraged.) Years ago a little
old lady became famous because she asked "where's the beef?" I do not
expect nor want to be famous over this little question, but would
like to see us engage it more often. Where is the power?

As I prepare to meet with those who openly display power, I know that
power is what drew me. Not a display for display's sake, but power.
We can not even get the horoscope reader to change without 2 things.
A show of power AND LOVE.

They talk about the trials of Salem, but more people have been
destroyed by the lack of love in the last month in this country than
any trial a few hundred years ago.

And power? If you want to see a demonstration of power, simply go
find someone in need. Find a person in a wheelchair, or someone
walking with a cane and stand back. Simply ask if you can pray. And
watch. You won't see people reading horoscopes, trusting amulets and
statues and chasing after the supernatural(And that is happening in
the church.), but they will be drawn to the power and the love of the
Lord, Jesus Christ.

When I say this is how the craft of covens work, I am serious. Do you
know why they can pull the children out of the church and into their
realm? It is because a loving environment with people who care is
sometimes very hard to find. When someone is hurting, whether it be
physical or emotional, they are open. And love of any kind is what
they are after. When our emphasis is on church and not being the
church, we are open to attack. Love always prevails.

So, as we head out this weekend, do keep us in prayer and if you are
in the area, join us tomorrow afternoon for a time of prayer and
worship.

Children

Like so many parents these days, I have children and I have
stepchildren. I don't call my stepchildren stepchildren, but
children. My kids. They don't have to think about it, as they know
where I stand.

Last night I received a really difficult call from my son. He called
to ask me to pray. This is my flesh and blood. He had made some bad
choices, even putting God aside, but last night he called for prayer.
He wants to come crash at the house and spend time with me. He is
hurting. Alcohol, drugs and a few other things.

Over the weekend one of my kids just cried with me over a situation
leaving her homeless. I asked her to come home if she wanted.

Last night Tina said to me "kids." That one word depicted everything
we felt in light of the late night call.

The good news is that they are asking for prayer and I write this to
affirm my own sense of what God is doing, but also for those of you
who want to hear something good from your own children.
